Most of our community handles itself. This page is here for the rare day when it does not.
If you are reading this before you have done anything wrong, thank you. That already says a lot about you.
The vibe
ComicOne is for storytellers, illustrators, and the people who love both. Pick the version of yourself that is generous, curious, and willing to be wrong. That is the version we hang out with here.
Five things we love
- Specific feedback over hot takes. "Page 4 panel 2 felt confusing" beats "this sucks."
- Credit the people involved. Writer, artist, colorist, letterer — name them.
- Ask before remixing. A short DM goes a long way.
- Lift newcomers. Reply to their first chapter. It might be the reason they ship the second.
- Honesty about how you made it. AI-assisted, hand-drawn, or both — just be clear so readers can choose.
Five things we don’t
- Harassment. Of anyone. Including people whose tools you do not like.
- Plagiarism. Uploading someone else’s story as yours is the fastest way to lose your account.
- AI vs human gatekeeping in either direction. Illustrators are not "lesser" than novelists. Novelists are not "lesser" than illustrators. We will not host fights about this.
- Doxxing or screenshots-out-of-context. If you have a complaint, bring it to us first.
- Spam. Drop links if relevant; do not drop links because you can.
If something goes wrong
- If you can, talk to the person. Most things resolve here.
- If it’s bigger, ping a moderator on Discord or use the report button.
- If it’s an emergency (threats, safety) — message us directly. We act within hours.
What we do when we step in
Warning first, then a temporary mute, then a removal. We rarely get to step three because most people, given a chance, do the right thing.
